Happy Halloween, Unico fans!
I’ll be taking my youngest out to trick or treat later tonight. It will be super cold, so wish me luck I don’t freeze! Haha! My daughter will be dressing up as Jason Voorhees from Friday the 13th, so this will be fun!
While I didn’t make a big Halloween post this year, you can still check out last year’s post as it had a bunch of art and a story. I managed to create a couple of “surprise cards” for this Halloween. If you didn’t see the post featuring these cards, you can check it out here! Hooray!
This month had quite a few Unico announcements, including new merchandise in Japan, Samuel Sattin was on book tour, and many more. I thought I was going to be more productive with the site, but I ended up buried in work and the usual mom tasks instead. Still, I was able to do a handful of stuff. I think some of the translations I’ve added have pretty neat information about Unico in the Island of Magic that I’m happy to share with other fans. While I’ve slowed down on collecting Unico merchandise lately, I’m always looking for articles and interviews from over the years. Lately, finding information is the treasure I enjoy the most, and I’m always happy to share with others.
Let’s see how much I can accomplish next month! Woo hoo!
As a reminder, the TEZUKA! God of Manga Kickstarter ends next month, so if you haven’t backed it yet, head on over to do so!
– I’ve started putting the translations for the movie pamphlets up on the Articles and Interviews page under the Sanrio Movie Items section. These booklets were sold while the films were in theaters for, I believe 300 yen and have some unique information in them. I’m pretty sure a lot of fans have collected these over the years and may have no clue what they say. Since I’m slow, not all of the translations are up, so please continue to check back for the rest. I’ll make future updates when the others are finished. – Added the Tezuka Osamu Database（手塚治虫データベース）website to the link section of the site. According to their first blog post, their site launched April 18, 2025, and has plenty of information on Tezuka’s works and is updated often. I’m always impressed with the amount of love and dedication fans have to Osamu Tezuka’s work, so I definitely wanted to add it here so more fans and researchers can utilize it.
– Added Unico: Försvunnen, the Swedish edition of Unico: Lost to the Unico: Lost Related Publication Page. It is scheduled to be released March 12, 2027.
– Added the 2005 Tezuka Osamu Calendar to the Calendar page. Once again, the awesome TezukaArchive provided the awesome photos! Also, please let me know if I got any of the Tezuka character names wrong. I have yet to read Queen Nasubi, but I’m pretty sure the three girls appearing in the illustrations are from that series, though their designs look more modern in the last one.
Thanks for checking out the updates! If you need to reach out, please contact me! ※ A quick reminder for those visiting this site. I’m a fan of Osamu Tezuka’s work and focus on the Unico series. I enjoy researching and sharing information, but I won’t upload any full comics, movies, soundtracks, or similar content. You will find only information and news on this site but never hesitate to contact me if you’re looking for something specific that I may help you with.
