We’re kicking off the celebration of Unico’s 50th anniversary with a series of posts featuring several fan submissions. I love seeing how everyone was introduced to Unico, and if you’re a fan, I’m pretty sure you’ll also enjoy these posts immensely. Unico has certainly found his way into everyone’s hearts over the years, and I’m sure he’ll continue to do so in the future.

My first contact with Unico was in a Scholastic catalog that I got at my school.
“My school was part of the Scholastic International School Book Club, so every year the school would receive a catalog with books we could buy. I liked the other books as well, but in Unico, I felt something special. I asked my mom if she could buy it; however, she said I already had many books to read. I saw Unico again at a local book shop when I went there to exchange some books I got for my birthday. I couldn’t find anything fun to exchange for, but when I saw “Unico: Awakening” standing there, it was love at first sight. I brought the book home, and, well, it’s my favourite. I also bought “Unico: Hunted” some days after its launch. Furthermore, I introduced Unico to my teacher, and she loved it. Moreover, I constantly see Unico news at My Unico Fans. So, literally, it became a part of my life. And that’s my personal Unico story.”
