“My Unico” Watches

My Unico Analog Watch

Both analog and digital watches were available by the company Citizen VEGA (シチズン VEGA) in the 80s during the theatrical release of Unico (aka The Fantastic Adventures of Unico) in 1981. The watch on the right features Unico and Chao sitting on stars with the “My Unico” logo between them. It came with the fabric band, but this was easy to change.

Another design available at the time had Unico looking at an insect with a colorful forest background. You can see the “My Unico” logo below him.

This watch also came with a fabric band similar to the one above.

Although this photo shows a white band, this digital watch released by Citizen VEGA as part of their Movie Time collection came with a pink one made of either real or faux leather material. Like most digital watches, it has several settings and a light to allow you to see in darker atmospheres.

We like the layout of this watch, and find Unico and Chao on the top is our favorite. Since this is a Movie Time watch, it has its own animations, and you can see the flowers and butterflies on the screen “move” or flash.

Another digital watch by Citizen VEGA featured a metallic-looking (silver) body and also came with the leather material band. The face has Unico and Chao like the previous watch and a unique screen which features the time and musical staff just below it.

When we’re able to learn more about this watch, we’ll update this section.
