I wanted to contribute to this anniversary project by sharing a couple of pictures of a sofubi Chao figure I own.
“It is the only Unico related merch I have, but it is one of my favourite figures in my collection. I discovered Unico just a few months ago through a Twitter post, starting with the 1981 film as a first major exposure. I loved the characters and how the storytelling went, so I felt like finding out more about Unico. As of today, I’ve been reading the original manga digitally; it’s a great (and very, very emotional) read.
I bought the Chao figure with the thoughts of never forgetting my soft spot for Unico as a series, how much I love Chao’s simple design as a character, and to represent my interest in exploring Tezuka’s many works.”
