Site Updates: April 2025

Welcome back to another site update post!

I can’t believe this month is already over. Wow! Hopefully, you are all doing well. It was busier for me this month because of birthdays, holidays, and everyone in the family getting sick. My oldest daughter turned 16 and requested I write a fanfic about her favorite characters, so I made a hilariously special story for her. I’m not into writing fan fiction, but if I have total creative control, then it’s fun to let loose. (Evil laugh.)

In other news, my awesome friend unicolove and her family went to Japan this month, which is super exciting. After they returned, she sent me a box full of Unico goodies! Ahh! I was so surprised! Look at these! Eee! Japan really has a ton of cute merchandise. Keychains, postcards, stickers, and more!

I’m always happy and thankful to have friends that are in the same fandom. Sometimes we enjoy series that aren’t as mainstream, and it can be tough finding someone to talk to about it.

I also received my Contactoons membership goodies from Italy! While I do not speak Italian, it’s fun to watch the films in another language to see the differences. Other than watching the films digitally, joining the club was the only way to get a hold of a physical copy of the films. Check out the goodies below! DVD set, CDs, autographed photos of Santo Verduci, and more! Grazie, grazie!

And now for the site updates themselves! As I mentioned above, I was a little busier in April, so there will be fewer updates. I will certainly make up for it next month!

– Added Unico wird gejagt, the German edition of Unico: Hunted to the Unico erwacht page.

– Added Mother and Iver to the Scholastic Manga Character page for Unico: Hunted. Kirkus Reviews revealed the names in their review of the second book. These are just placeholders, so I’ll update with photos and more later on after the book is available.

– Added Unico: Lost (3rd volume of the new series) to the Unico: Awakening by Scholastic’s Graphix page. There are pre-order links as well. Also, created a section on the Scholastic Manga Character page with the characters mentioned from site blurbs. There hasn’t been an official announcement or reveal yet, but plenty of online stores have added the book to their websites.

– Added The Art of Yoh Yoshinara Rough Sketches–Tezuka Characters to the Other Unico Related Publications page.

– Added The Osamu Tezuka Story to the Other Unico Related Publications page. This includes the original Japanese and English editions.

– Added a link to the Unico in the Island of Magic soundtrack page which features photos of the soundtrack on cassette tape. Monkin made a blog post about both soundtracks and a few other Unico items. I don’t currently have the cassette version, so I’m glad to see someone sharing and talking about it. Also added the original prices of both LP and cassette versions to the page.

– Added original prices for the first Unico soundtrack.

– Fixed links and other errors around site.

Sorry! No updates for this section this month! I wasn’t able to photograph, scan, and edit items, so look forward to May’s update where I will add a bunch of items.
